School starts on Wednesday September 3rd at 8:30 AM
Preparation for the 2008/09 School Year is in progress. I am excited about the coming year, and looking forward to seeing everyone in just a few days.
Here's what is happening--
SCIENCE
Sixth Graders will be taking Earth Science. You will have three science classes a week.
Seventh and Eighth Graders will be taking Life Science. You will have three science classes a week.
There are all sorts of interesting and fun lab activities planned. Be ready to work hard and learn a lot!
Grades 6 -8 will be starting the year off by working in small groups to build rockets out of 2 liter soda bottles and card board. Sorry to disappoint you all, but the rocket fuel won't be flammable. Our rockets will be powered by compressed air.
Please bring an empty (clean) 2 liter soda bottle to school on Wednesday, September 3rd. We will also need whole corks from wine bottles (not corks that have been removed with a cork screw).
ALGEBRA
Algebra will be first period, Monday through Friday. PLEASE be on time.
Algebra students will begin the year working within their study groups to put together two beautiful 3-D geometric mobiles for the classroom. The shapes will be created out of paper, and you'll be using a lot of glue sticks (remember the hot air balloons?).
See y'all on Wednesday!
