Archway School
Admissions Overview
Kindergarten Application Process
- Archway receives all necessary paperwork, including:
- A completed application from the parents
- $50 application fee
- A completed confidential teacher recommendation form
- A photo of applicant
- In February, prospective kindergartners visit on a
Saturday for about an hour with fellow applicants and Archway School
teachers. We observe the child's interactions with peers and give a
brief individual assessment of school readiness. The atmosphere is
relaxed and the activities are engaging. Decisions are mailed on March
6, 2008, in accordance with all schools belonging to the East Bay
Independent Schools Association (EBISA).
- For families applying
after the first pool, we accept applications year-round as space
permits. We schedule a time to observe the child at his or her
preschool. The applicant may also be asked to visit Archway for a
morning.
Grades 1-8 Application Process
- Archway receives all necessary paperwork, including:
- A completed application from the parents and student
- $50 application fee
- A completed confidential teacher recommendation form
- Copy of school records
- A photo of applicant
- For applicants of grades 5-8, a student application
- We will schedule a time for the child to visit Archway
for a full day in the class of their current grade (during the summer,
alternate arrangements may be made). The purpose of the visit is to
observe the child's interactions with peers and to assess his or her
academic standing.
- Families are notified of acceptance in early March, in accordance with all schools belonging to the East Bay Independent Schools Association (EBISA). Space permitting, the same process applies for students applying after the deadline.
