Archway School

History

1973-1988: Woods Edge School, Elementary, full-day, small-class academic at St. John's Episcopal Church, Gouldin Road, Oakland

1978-June 1988: After-School Program, later Before & After, known as ASP, a needed community service serving Woods Edge School students until 1988, and open to children attending Thornhill since 1978.

1980: Archway Jr. High/Middle School: Grades 5-8+. 35-40 students, located between Piedmont Ave. & Broadway on 41st Street

1986-1988: Little Pond Pre-K at Archway School

1988: present Archway School K-8, with 80 students in 1997-1998.

1988-1994: Woods Edge After school Program continued, serving Thornhill families, plus small Pre-K (pre-school) - which was added when the School's K-4 joined Archway's 5th - 8th

1978: Summer Programs started at Woods Edge, have continued at Archway
