Arts
At Archway we recognize the broader educational needs of all students. While the essential critical thinking skills and core academic areas are central to any independent school program, equally important are exposure to and development of the visual and performing arts. Our arts program includes weekly classes in dance, drama, music, after-school chorus, and fine art. Each class is unique, offering students the chance to create through movement, verbal and written expression, song, and a variety of fine art mediums. Additionally, the arts at Archway celebrate cultural diversity, incorporating creative influences from around the world.
Throughout the year we celebrate the arts at Archway through performance evenings designed to bring the whole community together. In the fall this includes a harvest festival where the Archway choir sings and families enjoy a meal together in a spirit of thanks. Our winter potluck has a diversity focus, wherein students and their families share a dish that celebrates their heritage. The evening encompasses performances from each of the arts departments with a focus on artists' influences from around the world. Additionally, individual classes produce drama performances designed to enhance the class curriculum.
